  • Overview

    The Product Manager is a leadership role that is responsible for driving strategic direction, business enablement, and product solution planning for software and services solutions. Through collaboration, this role works alongside the delivery team in providing the appropriate solution.


    1. Shape the direction for products used by coworkers, clients, or both; solve problems, deliver innovation, and create great experiences for the employees and clients of Acosta.
    2. Through cultured relationships, obtain strategic initiatives from business leaders, their associated priorities, and dollar value.
    3. Assess product opportunities and determine what products to build. Demonstrate success at profitably growing the business.
    4. Perform discovery with the audience to understand opportunities.
    5. Develop testable hypothesis statements and running experiments to validate ideas.
    6. Assesses market competition.
    7. Identify, analyze, and prioritize new features.
    8. Work with engineering team during all phases of the project; including estimation, development, and testing.
    9. Work with clients to validate product ideas.
    10. Prepare presentations for internal & external stakeholders.
    11. Perform ROI analysis.
    12. Own the roadmap of current & future product releases.
    13. Own the release strategy (what, when, how, etc.).
    14. Own one product


    1. Five years of years of domain experience, either at a broker, retailer or manufacturer.
    2. Ability to get beneath the surface of what people say to understand what people really need.
    3. Outstanding written & verbal communication skills.
    4. Collaborative mindset.
    5. Domain Expertise – deep knowledge of CPG and/or Retail
    6. Empathy – develops a deep & nuanced understanding of the people they are creating products for
    7. Creative – the ability to think differently and lead the creation of innovative products
    8. Passionate – this isn’t a job, it’s a calling…
    9. Positive – the worldview of “they aren’t problems, they are opportunities”
    10. T-Shaped – depth in at least one area, AND knowledge of many things
    11. Technology Literate – awareness of what is possible by leveraging (modern) technology
