    The Learning Services Consultant has responsibility for the development and delivery of learning programs, processes and environments that enhance performance across Acosta associates and has direct focus on client, customer and Acosta partner programs.  The incumbent provides Instructional Systems Design, Organizational Development and day-to-day delivery of learning throughout a fast-paced Sales and Marketing organization.  This role builds and sustains effective long term relationships with business partners, customers, and clients to identify behavior and performance gaps and to recommend and implement appropriate learning and development solutions. 30-50% travel required to conduct training at client locations within the US, Canada, and International (minimal).  This role works closely with the Learning Development team to collaborate, design and deliver learning content utilizing internal/external resources.

    Responsibilities

    • Utilize consulting skills to collaborate with business partners, customers, and clients to identify behavior and performance gaps and to recommend and implement appropriate learning and development solutions.
    • Consult with all levels of the organization including senior management, clients and customers to recommend, produce, and execute effective learning programs.

    • Act as strategic partner with the business and/or client to develop the people strategy from a learning, human development, and change management point of view.
    • Lead and manage all aspects of a learning project from initial idea/recommendation through implementation to post-assessment/follow-up, including project manager when required.
    • Demonstrate instructional design skills utilizing adult learning principles and creative design techniques.
    • Recognize and work effectively in complex, political, and ambiguous situations.
    • Ensure success of each project through effective collaboration with subject matter experts and project team.
    • Provide exceptional customer service to all Acosta associates and partners by striving to fully research and understand the situation and resolve the cause, not just the symptoms, ensuring customer satisfaction.
    • Provide tactical support by managing various day-to-day activities including: updating the learning/project plans; assisting with course and program logistical planning and communication; and Acosta University internal and partner sites.
    • Drive execution and adoption of core and critical programs/initiatives across the organization.
    • Analyze business needs, identify gaps between ideal and actual performance and determine performance deficiencies; align solutions with business goals.
    • Plan, research, write, and produce learning materials/courses including presentations, exercises, user guides, and quick references as needed.
    • Manage projects for on-time, on-budget delivery with high quality deliverables.
    • Maintain a proactive approach in identifying gaps in business practices and application functionality to drive operational excellence.
    • Build and maintain complete understanding and application of principles, theories, and concepts in the learning field, as well as stay abreast of current trends and technologies.
    • Effectively facilitate, co-facilitate, and participate in various learning arenas such as live classroom, remote via web/conference, or blended.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree or equivalent training, learning and/or educational experience.
    • 3-5 years related work experience in training and development.
    • Effective presentation skills.
    • Exceptional customer service and client/customer relations skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong computer skills and ability to work with MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Strong knowledge of software concepts and an ability to quickly understand product functionality in the context of its business application.
    • Experience with web conferencing tools.
    • Ability and willingness to perform as a team member on multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment with high expectations for quality.
    • Skill and experience in performance improvement and large scale redesign/integration projects. 
    • Self starter; highly motivated; able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to work globally across organizational boundaries (vertically and horizontally).
    • Proven ability to work with multiple levels of the organization from senior management to field representatives.
    • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes without hierarchical authority.
    • Strong track record of effectively driving learning and development initiatives to support key business priorities.
    • Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and practice, including development and implementation of culture change.
    • Skills in performance management, succession planning, career development, instructional design, process improvement, competency development, and leadership development.
    • Knowledge of adult learning principles, measurement and evaluation methods and theory.
    • Strong project management skills and ability to self manage.
    • Experience with learning management systems and/or possess the technical aptitude to utilize  Acosta’s corporate learning management system and tools.
    • Experience working with audio/video producers, e-learning developers, and third-party vendors.
    • Experience developing eLearning solutions using common authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, Presenter).
    • Ability to travel as needed.
